 How to Take a Screenshot!

Snipping Tool For Windows Vista Users:

1) Click on Start Menu>>Select All Programs>>Click on Accessories and then select Windows Snipping Tool

2) In the Windows Snipping Tool Window, you will find a Down Pointing Arrow beside the New Button..Click on it and then a Drop Down Menu Appears.

3) Here you can choose different options given

a) For A Screen-shot of the Full Screen, select Full-screen Snip and then click anywhere on the Desktop Screen, the screen-shot will be copied to the clipboard

b) For A Screen-shot of the Active Window, select Window Snip and then click on the Window whose screen-shot you want, and it will be copied to clipboard

c) For A Screen Shot of a Specific Are in a Window which is in the Form of Rectangle or Square, you can choose the Rectangular Snip Option. Now Point the Mouse on the starting are and then holding the left mouse button, drag the mouse in order to select the are that you want to snip and then after selecting the area, just release the left mouse button and the selected are is copied to clipboard

d) Free-Form Snip: Just like Rectangular Snip, you have to select the are but it is free form unlike the rectangular are snip

4) Now the image which has been copied to the clipboard will be shown in the Snipping Tool Window...Go to File and Select Save As and then save your picture. Smile

For All Versions of Windows:

1) Open the Window whose Screen-shot you want to take.

2) Now, look at your Keyboard and search for the Print Screen Button..it will be abbreviated as Prt Scr or Print Scrn etc... and is usually found above the Navigation Panel or Beside The Num Lock and Scroll Lock Keys!

3) Press the Print Screen Key on the Keyboard and the image of the screen will be copied to Clip Board

4) Now, Click on Start Menu>>All Programs>>Accessories>>Paint. Now the Paint Window will open up!

5) Go to Edit Menu and Select Paste or simply Press [ctrl+v] on the Keyboard instead..!

6) The Screen-shot appears in the Paint Window. Now you can edit it with the Paint Tools which you find in the Windows Paint Program.

7) Now Click on File Menu and then choose Save/Save As and then save the screen-shot in a suitable format like jpeg/gif/bmp etc...
